Have you ever thought about what hugs mean to you? Have you reflected on what happens to the person giving the hug and what happens to the person receiving it? Did you ever realize that just by watching people hug you get an emotional benefit? That’s right. So, if you enjoy watching people hug, you’re not alone!
Hugging produces the hormone oxytocin and it is this hormone that gives a feeling of security and calm. It reduces anxiety, and we all really need this. Science clearly shows that when you hug another person, you both benefit! Hugs reduce stress and make you happier, alleviate the symptoms of colds, and improve heart health.
Hugging is a non-verbal communication and one simple hug can truly do more than a thousand words. Those hugs you give can tell a whole story about you such as whether you’re a tactile person. Tactile people are those for whom touch is very important when communicating with others. They express their feelings through hugs, kisses, handshakes and caresses. And the relationship becomes stronger.
Did you know that there is an international Hug Day? It is on January 21. Oh, this is a wonderful day when you can hug each other as much as you like, express your sympathy, affection and care!
Did you ever think about the different types of hugs? They can be friendly, formal, romantic and, of course, parental.
• Friendly: you can simply hug a friend and say with your eyes "I'm glad to meet you", "I'm open to friendship."
• Formal, business: these are light touches, barely noticeable, but people remain in a comfortable communication zone.
• Romantic hugs: Oh how wonderful they are! Fluids, eye to eye, hearts beating in unison! It is difficult to describe them, but they tell each other "I like you", "I want more of your attention"!
• Parental hugs, in my opinion, are the most selfless. It is very important for a child to know that he is loved, that he will not be turned away from and abandoned. These are hugs without a reason, these are hugs despite disagreements. At this moment, the parent says "I am here", "I am protecting and defending you", and the child's self-esteem and confidence depend on this.
The last two forms of hugs are joyful to tears! And when you see them, what do they cause in you? Of course, emotions, positive emotions, joy, a smile, peace, boundless feelings of happiness for people, love... Don’t you agree?!
In the modern world, today, there is an obvious deficit of live communication. It has been replaced by social networks and instant messengers. Hugs help to cope with the feeling of isolation, feel a connection with loved ones, trust other people more.
Hugging is good for you!
Watch your hugs and the hugs of others.
Perhaps you will discover the gift of clairvoyance, like Wolf Messing, who subtly felt and read people by their gestures. Awaken the “hugger” in you, because it is so beneficial for the soul and body, and brings so much joy!
